Gang of seven arrested in Delhi, valuables worth ₹50 lakh recovered

Police have arrested seven members of a gang of burglars and recovered from them luxury garments worth 50 lakh, two cars, cash and other valuables.

Police have arrested seven members of a gang of burglars and recovered from them luxury garments worth 50 lakh, two cars, cash and other valuables. Police suspect the gang is involved in more than 50 thefts and burglary cases, of which they have solved 18 cases.

Police identified the kingpin of the gang as 38-year-old Rajan, who hails from Mathura and 23 cases of burglary registered against him. His aides were identified as Ravi (28) involved in 29 cases of burglary and thefts, Rajesh Gandhi (30) involved in 13 cases, Ansar (36), Yashvir Gujjar (35), Afsar Malik (23) and Asif Malik (21).

Deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said they have recovered 19 plastic bags full of cloths from high-end garments brands worth 50 lakh from the seven men. One Santro car and five two-wheelers along with a laptop, television and cash 1,30,000 were recovered from them.

“Last Thursday, we received information that a gang of burglars will come to Dwarka Sector 1. The car was intercepted by our team and five occupants of the car were arrested. The car was found to have been stolen from Mayapuri,” the DCP said.
