NEW DELHI: Hours after the Delhi Police gave a clean chit to BJP leader and NDMC vice-chairman Karan Singh Tanwar in a murder case, the ruling AAP on Thursday questioned the police action and demanded his arrest along with a BJP MP in the case.

NDMC’s Estate Officer-cum-Legal Adviser MM Khan was shot dead by contract killers last month. Hotelier Ramesh Kakkar, the main accused, had allegedly hired the killers to eliminate Khan.
“We have provided enough evidences against (New Delhi Municipal Council Vice-Chairman) Tanwar. He wrote a letter to L-G Najeeb Jung to seek Khan’s removal. Then why is Delhi Police saving him? It is working like a spokesperson of the BJP,” said AAP’s Delhi convener Dilip Pandey.
He said Delhi Police cannot give a clean chit to Tanwar and BJP MP Maheish Girri who, the AAP leader claimed, was also involved in the murder, without interrogating them.
“Tanwar and Girri have not been questioned by the Delhi Police in connection with the case. They can’t be proven innocent without proper investigation,” Pandey told reporters.
