NEW DELHI: Leader of opposition in Delhi assembly, Vijender Gupta, has alleged that the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) was misleading the people of the city by giving conflicting statements.

He said the water utility had claimed higher revenue collection due to new water connections and regularisation of illegal connections and on the other hand, it justified privatisation of water bill distribution system citing constant fall in revenue.
He also asked the government to disclose the names of colonies that had been added to the piped water supply network.
“The government’s claim to have provided 1.87 lakh connections by laying new pipelines in 300 colonies is totally misleading. If it is true, the government should make public the list of those colonies and also tell the people of Delhi how much money has been spent on the project,” said Gupta.
The BJP leader demanded that the government should disclose whether the app launched by the DJB had been successful in eliminating the woes of the consumers.
