New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in northwest Delhi’s Haiderpur on Monday by his friend and four others for slapping his friend’s brother in public.

Police have arrested two of the five killers, identified as Guddu and Suraj, while the other three, including the deceased’s friend Mohit, are still absconding, police said.
Mohit stabbed Shamsuddin multiple times when he was sitting with five-six men in Haiderpur. Shamsuddin worked as a tailor at a boutique in Shalimar Bagh area. He is survived by his parents and other family members who live in slums near Mangolpuri.
Police said Shamsuddin was involved in half a dozen crimes.
Some days ago, Shamsuddin had slapped Mohit’s brother, Ravinder, over some minor issue. He had also humiliated Ravinder by forcing him to apologise to him in public. When Mohit learnt about it, he had a heated argument with Shamsuddin and the two had threatened each other. The matter, however, was resolved by their common friends.
