The incident took place on Friday evening. Both the accused are residents of Vijay Enclave, police said. According to police, both of them are pursuing diploma in engineering from Pusa Institute, and committed the crime to entertain their girlfriends.
“The duo robbed a 13-year-old boy and his father of their mobile phones and some cash at knife point,” a senior police officer said.
“Around 7 pm, police staff was patrolling near Janakpuri district centre in West Delhi, when they saw some people chasing two young boys.
The patrolling staff immediately grabbed the boys. After interrogation, two mobile phones and Rs 1,600 and one steel knife were recovered from them,” the police officer added.
A case of robbery has been registered and the duo has been sent to judicial custody, he added.
