2 MPs, 1 MLA prosecuted for using red beacons

For the past few days, the traffic police have been coming down heavily on prominent political leaders of the Capital for the unauthorised use of red beacons in their vehicles. They have already prosecuted two MPs and an MLA.

For the past few days, the traffic police have been coming down heavily on prominent political leaders of the Capital for the unauthorised use of red beacons in their vehicles. They have already prosecuted two MPs and an MLA.

West Delhi MP Mahabal Mishra and his south Delhi counterpart Ramesh-both from Congress-were prosecuted as was Hari Nagar MLA Harsharan Singh Balli of BJP for the use of these beacons, police said. "We have asked them to remove red beacons immediately," said Satyendra Garg, JCP (Traffic).

According to law, MPs and MLAs are not allowed to have beacons on their vehicles.
