A 20-year-old woman working for a placement agency was allegedly gangraped by two persons in Netaji Subhash Place area of northwest Delhi, police said.
The incident took place on Saturday night when the accused, Amit Kumar (19), called the woman at the pretext of some work to his friend’s house in the area, police said. A police officer said one of Kumar’s friend was already present in the house. They confined the woman in the room and took turns at raping her, police said.

They threatened the woman with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident.
“The medical examination of the woman, conducted at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, has confirmed sexual assault. We have registered a case against the accused under Sections 376G (gang rape), 342 (holding a person hostage) and 506 (threatening someone with dire consequences) of the IPC,” said a senior police officer.
A raid was conducted at Kumar’s house from where he was arrested. His friend, though, managed to evade the cops.
