3 more suspected swine flu cases reported in city

With samples of three new cases taken on Monday, the suspected cases of influenza H1N1 A virus awaiting result in the Capital has gone up to six.

Two of the six suspects are admitted at Airport Health Organisation (APHO) Hospital near Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

While one of them is a woman who landed at the airport last night from the US, the other works as a male ground staff at the airport itself.

Another male patient is admitted at Delhi government-run Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital and three others are admitted at the central government-run Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.

Delhi Health minister Kiran Walia, however, assured the people of Delhi that there was absolutely no need to panic.

"The situation is very much under control. I won't call it alarming at all," she said.

Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who also said the situation was under control as 11 people out of the 23 infected had recovered, said, "Keeping in mind the size and population of the country, 12 cases were nothing as compared to the huge numbers most developed countries have reported."
