"Three hundred and twenty five most dangerous black spots have been identified in 13 states with the help of state police departments.

"These spots account for about 90% road accidents for which several short-term and long-term remedial measures have been proposed for implementation, so as to reduce road accidents," an official statement said.

Out of these 325 spots, 233 are on National Highways (NHs) and the National Highways Authority of India is undertaking measures to minimise accidents, it said.

"Out of remaining 92 black spots, 18 are on state highways, which is the responsibility of the state governments," the statement said.

The 13 states include Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
