According to the police, the deceased, Prashant Antal, the son of a retired brigadier, used to live in F-block of Ram Vihar Apartments.

"The deceased was working for an Assam-based company. He, along with his wife Geeta and nine-year-old son Ainkya, had come to Noida on October 13 this year. On Thursday, they were to return to Assam," Alankrita Singh, assistant superintendent of police, said.

"Around 3am on Thursday, Prashant tried to hang himself from the railing of the balcony. However, the cloth he used could not support his weight and he fell from the seventh floor. His family members rushed him to Noida Medicare Centre hospital," Singh said.

Prashant was brought to the hospital around 3.30am. Doctors tried to revive him, but in vain, the ASP said.

"The cause of suicide is being investigated but no suicide note was found. His father Jarnail Singh and other members have not divulged any details yet," superintendent of police HN Singh said.
