4 victims still recovering from injuries

A month after the Delhi High Court blast on September 7, out of the 56 people brought to New Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital from the blast site, four are still undergoing treatment.

The four people who are recovering in various wards of the hospital are Harish Kumar, Madan Mohan Sharma, Rashid Ali and Mukesh Arora.

Sharma underwent an amputation soon after admission, as his blood vessels had been damaged beyond repair in the blast. Ali, whose condition had deteriorated and had to be shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU), is now stable and out of the ICU.

Fifteen injured brought to the hospital succumbed to injuries. In all, 75 people had been injured in the blast.

The most recent victim to be discharged from the hospital is Tarshem Singh, 34, who was discharged about a fortnight ago. “I need to get back to work as soon as possible, but with wounds still healing, I do not know when I will be able to do that,” said Singh, a driver with a private cab service.
