At least six people were injured after two groups exchanged fire incident in Dasna area under Masoori police station of Ghaziabad on Friday, police said.

The two groups clashed over alleged misappropriation of funds at a religious place, the police said.

While one of the groups constituted supporters of Mohammed Usman — the former head of the committee looking after the religious place, the other group had supporters of Sajid Chaudhary — who is the present head of the religious committee.
“The two groups had some altercation over the alleged misappropriation of the funds by Usman, the former head of the committee. On Friday afternoon, the group supporting Usman opened fire during a clash with the other group. At least six
people were injured in the incident,” Ghaziabad SSP Akhil Kumar said.
The injured, after the clash, have been admitted to MMG district hospital at Ghaziabad.
A case has been registered at Masoori police station, the police said.
“We are probing the case as both the groups claim the incident was instigated by the other group. The culprits would be booked under the National Security Act,” he added.
