Soon, the traffic police on Delhi roads will play a different role.

They will distribute Commonwealth Games information booklets free of cost to people at various intersections. The Games traffic volunteers, who have recently been trained, will also be pressed into action.
Failing to educate people about the dos and don'ts on road usages during the Games, the booklet is a last-minute alternative measure by the police.
"Designing of the information booklet is on and we will start distributing them by Tuesday," said Ajay Chadha, Special CP (Traffic). He said the booklet will also be available in all the police stations.
"The Delhi Traffic Police could neither conduct rehearsals on the dedicated lanes adequately, nor mark all the lanes properly. Lots of people are confused about the road restrictions and mode of transport," said a senior official.
The booklet will have a detailed map of Delhi with information on restricted lanes, road blockages, alternative routes, park-and-walk facilities, etc.
