Several management students on Saturday visited the Noida Extension area and spoke to farmers about the land acquisition row. The reason: Many institutes have put the Noida Extension episode in the project list.

"I have come here for my project. I have talked to several farmers and taken their views," Karan Bakshi, an MBA student said on Saturday at Bisrakh.

"We have started our project on Noida Extension. We are talking to all the four major stake holders -- Greater Noida authority, farmers, builders and buyers," said Navdeep Malhotra, another management student.

These students also attended panchayats. "We are visiting the panchayats and meetings of officials with farmers to learn the process of negotiations. We dress ourselves as villagers so that we can easily mingle with them," said Akhil Gupta, a student.

"Noida Extension episode has caused tremendous interest to top managements of various companies," H Chaturvedi, director, Birla Institute of Management and Technology, told HT.

"Noida Extension impasse has given enough study material for students. They may face similar situation when posted at senior management level at corporate houses," said DK Garg, chairman, Ishan Institute of Management and Technology. "Students will also learn how an out-of-court settlement is reached in such situations. They will be able to know political groups' interference and ways to deal with them," said Navin Gupta, chairman, IEC Group of Institutions.
