AAP founder collects 100 signatures

Each aspirant has to fulfill the 100-signature rule to validate their candidature if they want to contest the Delhi assembly elections.

Reiterating his claim that no one is above the party, he said: “I will only fight from the constituency after getting 100 signatures. No one is above the party and we are all equal,” said Kejriwal, as he headed towards DIZ area in Gole Market.

The New Delhi seat from where Kejriwal has decided to contest is considered a Congress bastion as a majority of voters in this constituency are government employees.

Accompanied by 100-odd supporters, Kejriwal started the process from DIZ colony in Gole market where he managed to collect nearly half the required number of signatures in 30-odd minutes .

“We want change. The chief minister has had her share and now it is time for her to go. Corruption is becoming a major problem and the chief minister has been conniving with the power distribution companies,” said Kuldeep Tyagi, a government employee.

According to AAP members, Kejriwal had managed to collect 100 signatures by 4pm.
