Abu Salem gang member nabbed

The East Delhi Police have arrested one of the main alleged sharpshooters of the Abu Salem gang who is involved in several cases of extortion. The police said Usman Khan was also involved in threatening the main witnesses in the murder of Gulshan Kumar, owner of a music company in Bollywood.

The police said Usman Khan was also involved in threatening the main witnesses in the murder of Gulshan Kumar, owner of a music company in Bollywood.

The police added that Khan also tried to extort money from Bollywood actress Raveena Tondon's husband Anil Thadani.

He has also been involved in several criminal cases in Delhi and Mumbai and used to work closely with Abu Salem, the police said.

Khan, one of Abu Salem’s main men in Delhi, according to the police, was apprehended from near his relative's house in East Delhi's Kalyanpuri on Friday following a tip off, the police added.

Additional Commissioner of Police (East) K.C. Dwivedi said, “Khan is a sharp shooter of the Salem gang and has been involved in several cases of extortion, fake currency, under the Arms Act and attempt to murder in Delhi and Mumbai. He has also tried to extort money from various businessmen and people working in the film industry in the past.”

During interrogation, Dwivedi said, it came to light that Khan was involved in sale and purchase of disputed properties and land grabbing indirectly in Delhi and NCR.
