The Delhi Police on Thursday afternoon were caught unaware as a group of activists led by filmmaker Ketan Dixit screened the banned documentary — India’s Daughter at Sant Ravi Dass Camp — home to the four accused in the December 16 gang rape.

According to residents, the activists screened the whole documentary for the residents. The residents said that the organisers were at the spot for at least two hours. While police had earlier moved the court to stop the movie’s release claiming it would create a law and order situation, the police did not take any action on Thursday.
Dixit, a former journalist who worked with a regional newspaper, had organised the movie’s screening. He was earlier detained and let off by the UP Police for screening the same documentary at a friend’s house in Agra.
According to news reports, the UP Police have seized Dixit’s laptop and pendrive containing a copy of the movie. Dixit is learnt to have told residents that it was not against the law to watch a movie which showed the mindset of a man already convicted in the case.
Hours after the screening, Dixit’s phone was found to be switched off. DCP (South) Prem Nath told Hindustan Times in the evening that the police had no such information about the movie screening.
