“There is nothing wrong in drinking per se. Drinking in a car or at a public place is wrong; whether it’s two girls, two boys, one boy and one girl. It doesn’t matter if it’s a girl or a boy,” she told news channels.

“Secondly, the way police dealt with this case is also wrong. They have no business to slap around. They can just call the women police and book the girl. Don’t just focus on the wrongdoings of the police. There are two wrongs. I am focussing on both the wrongs,” she said.

Bedi also clarified on twitter, “Am repeating what I said: how it’s read/projected is a different matter. I said drinking in public is wrong as was the police behaviour.”Earlier in the day, Bedi had said, “Girls also need to be better. Drinking in a public place with boys is not a right thing. It is unlawful.”
