The Gurgaon Police, meanwhile, appears as perplexed as the victims. Yet, senior police officials say they have identified the criminals and will arrest them soon.

The latest burglary victim, Parvin Jha, a New Palam Vihar resident, works with a multinational social organization.

His house was broken into on Friday when he and his wife, who works for another multinational company, were at work. The couple lost precious jewelry and other valuables worth about Rs 6 lakh.

“All the locks were broken and the house was ransacked. Our golden and diamond jewelery, costly watches and sarees were missing. About 4-5 houses here have been broken into in the last 15 days,” he said.

A number of incidents of snatching and eve teasing have also been reported from here.

“Police teams from Faridabad, Palwal, Mewat and other towns are looking for 14 criminals. We have also identified the burglars who were involved in the Sector 54 house break-ins. These are hi-profile thieves who have a lavish lifestyle, use luxury cars and look like educated gentlemen. All these men will be arrested soon,” Deswal claimed.
