Facing flak for backing her father against the official UPA candidate during the presidential poll, NCP's Agatha Sangma on Monday reportedly offered to quit as MoS for rural development. Agatha met NCP chief Sharad Pawar to offer her resignation.

PA Sangma had earlier resigned from the party to contest the presidential poll against Pranab Mukherjee. Pawar is also under pressure to take action against Agatha for flouting several warnings and visiting states to campaign for her father.
Later, senior NCP leader Praful Patel said Agatha had assured him that she would abide by the party's decision and there would be no deviation. While speculations are rife claiming Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule may replace Agatha in the council of ministers, the NCP chief has reportedly not supported the idea.
