The All India Institute of Medical Sciences has rejected the Rajasthan government's request for a team of doctors to conduct post-mortem on the bodies of those killed in violence in the ongoing Gurjar agitation.

"We had received a request from the Rajasthan government requesting for a team of doctors but we have rejected the demand," an AIIMS official said.
Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla had earlier written to the district administration putting forth conditions for post-mortem on the bodies of protesters killed during the nine-day-long agitation for ST status.
In his two-page letter to the District Collector, Bainsla demanded that a medical team from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences conduct autopsies on the bodies at the agitation sites.
He also demanded that the autopsy be conducted in the presence of a relative of the dead, one doctor, an advocate and an educated member of the community.
