Aligarh man held for student’s murder

Delhi police have arrested a man for the murder of a B.Tech student who had come to Delhi to appear in an entrance exam.

Police said the accused, identified as Rajesh Kumar, had met the victim in train when they were on their way to Delhi.

The accused, who is unemployed, was arrested from Aligarh.

"Anand Raut had come to Delhi from Indore to appear in an entrance exam of BHEL. Police found Raut's body on June 28 morning and later identified from his driving licence and a small diary with some phone numbers," P Kamaraj, Joint Commissioner of Police (New Delhi Range) said.

His father was contacted and the police were told that the victim's cell phone in missing. The police traced the phone to Aligarh and nabbed Kumar, who confessed to the murder.

The accused told the police that he met Raut in Malwa Express in Ujjan on June 25 and the two became friendly. Raut had told Kumar that he was going to Delhi for an exam.
