Another MBBS student arrested

A day after they busted a racket in which five men, including two MBAs, an MBBS student and a qualified doctor were arrested for using high-end phones and Bluetooth devices to cheat during an all-India medical entrance test, another MBBS student was arrested from Rohtak, sources said.

According to sources, a team of the Delhi Police Crime Branch conducted a raid at a private medical college in Rohtak and arrested the sixth gang member even as the five men arrested for their involvement in the scam were remanded to a week in custody after being produced in court on Tuesday.

“Just like Gaurav Choudhary, 23, the mastermind of the entire scam, this person was also pursuing his MBBS from a private medical college. He was enrolled at the PGI College in Rohtak and has failed thrice in his first year,” said a senior police officer.

Meanwhile, the police said they were trying to track five to six other bogus candidates who had appeared in the said exam, which had been held across 156 centres throughout the country on Sunday but were facing hurdles as their cell phones have been switched off.

Pvt college says no such student enrolled

Administration of RD Gardi Medical College, Ujjain, has claimed that no student in the name of Mohit Choudhary was found in the college records.

The Police have identified one of the accused as Mohit Choudhary, a second year student of MBBS at the college. Medical college dean Dr JK Sharma said they had checked records of the college for the past five years.

There was no such name. However, he said, it might be possible that the accused was not telling his actual name.
