Another narco test on Raj Kumar in B'lore

Desperate for a breakthrough in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, the CBI subjected Raj Kumar to a second narco-analysis test on Wednesday.

Kumar is the domestic help of Praful and Anita Durani, family friends of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. The CBI had arrested him on June 27. The second narco test was conducted in Bangalore.

Before his arrest, the agency had subjected Kumar through a series of tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory Gandhinagar from June 23 to 26. These included a narco-analysis, brain mapping, psychological assessment and polygraph test. He had been subjected to a polygraph test at CFSL, Delhi, on June 14 as well.

Senior officials refused to comment on what had prompted them to conduct a second narco test on Kumar. Sources said the need for a second narco test could have arisen after new revelations.

The test was conducted at the Bowring Hospital. A CBI team was also present. Dr S. Malini, Assistant Director, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) here, who conducted the test, feigned ignorance. "Who's Raj Kumar?" she told newsmen. Sources said the report would be handed over to the CBI in a week's time.

Driver questioned

A CBI team questioned Dr Rajesh Talwar's driver Umesh Sharma and Hemraj's son-in-law Jeevan on Wednesday A CBI team was at Jeevan's Sector 29 home. They stayed there for half an hour. When asked, Jeevan said it was a routine questioning and refused to divulge details. Later in the afternoon, he went to the UPPCL Guest House, where the CBI team is camping. He was questioned for around half an hour again.

Lawyer inspects terrace

Criminal lawyer R.K. Anand along with Krishna's defence counsel inspected the terrace of Aarushi's flat. Anand told HT that he would defend Krishna.
