She has brought the entire Sikh fraternity on a single platform to seek justice for the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Nirpreet Kaur, whose family stayed at Raj Nagar (near Delhi Cantonment) in 1984, saw her father being mercilessly killed during the massacre. She now lives with her son at Tilak Nagar.
After a Delhi court acquitted Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in a one of the anti-Sikh cases on April 30, Nirpreet took it upon her to fight for justice.
Three days later, she started an indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar on May 3, demanding that a chargesheet be filed against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in a case related to an FIR at the Nangloi police station.
Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) — which arranged for all logistics during her fast — along with Sikh and BJP leaders pitched in support and joined Nirpreet for a day’s fast on Wednesday.
