Artist's work stolen from CP

Five painting of a 35-year-old artist from Chennai were stolen from outside Tamil Nadu emporium in central Delhi's Connaught Place area on Monday.

Five painting of a 35-year-old artist from Chennai were stolen from outside Tamil Nadu emporium in central Delhi's Connaught Place area on Monday.

The incident took place in the morning when Lokanathan, who hails from Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai, had gone for a cup of coffee after placing 14 of his paintings outside the emporium.

However, hours after the theft being reported, a youth, identified as Pappu, was apprehended by the police with the stolen paintings. Loknathan had gone to check the missing paintings in his godown in Patel Nagar when he was informed by the police about the paintings.

Pappu was caught with the paintings by a constable who found him in suspicious circumstances near the emporium.
