Corporate affairs minister Sachin Pilot has clarified the submission of statements of his assets and liabilities every year to the Prime Minister.

He said this in response to a November 22 HT story which said three Union ministers including Pilot had refused to divulge their income tax returns under the Right To Information Act.
The story was based on the document provided by the Income Tax department to RTI applicant Anil Bairwal of Association of Democratic reforms saying that Pilot had refused to provide his income tax returns on the ground that it was not required under Right To Information Act.
"These details are available for viewing by the public on PM's website. I-T department asked me certain details in the context of this RTI query, and the same were sent to the I-T authorities vide a letter dated 31st March, 2010," Pilot said in an email.
