Union Minister for Shipping, Road, Transport & Highways TR Baalu on Sunday expressed happiness at the release of all crew members of merchant ship Stolt Valor by Somalian pirates and conveyed his best wishes for their safe journey home.

"The minister has expressed relief and happiness and conveyed his best wishes for a safe journey home to all the crew members. He conveyed his best wishes to the family members of the crew who have been suffering this ordeal," a statement released by Baalu's office said.
Stolt Valor, sailing under the Hong Kong Flag, was released early this morning along with 18 Indian nationals and four foreigners. The vessel has sailed for Mumbai.
It may be recalled that M.T. Stolt Valor was hijacked by Somali pirates near the Gulf of Aden on September 15, 2008. It has 18 Indian crew members while the other four are from Bangladesh, Philippines and Russia.
