The forensic team of Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) conducted back-to-back post-mortems of blast victims on Thursday and released all 12 bodies by 3 pm to ensure there were no delays in handing them over to the grieving families.

Protocol requires Delhi Police send the request for post-mortem to the hospital, which after conducting the procedure hands over the body to the police, who in turn hand it over to the family.
The entire team of 20 doctors and nurses got to work from 8am. “Our priority was to release the bodies to the families,” said a senior doctor at the hospital.
While the initial paperwork is complete, the final report will take a little more time.
The 12th requisition for post-mortem was of Pramod Chaurasia, 40, who succumbed to injuries at 7am on Thursday at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. He had been operated upon at the hospital on Wednesday.
For those seeking information on the injured admitted in these hospitals, the ministry of health has set up a control room at the Nirman Bhavan. The contact numbers are: 011-23061302 and 011-23061469.
