On Saturday afternoon on a busy road in Dwarka an engineer was stabbed when he tried to resist a robbery by motorcycle-borne assailants. An hour later another man was robbed of Rs 10,000 at knifepoint by four motorcycle borne men near the police headquarters at ITO.

The victims in both the incidents were coming out of ATM booths. In the last seven days this was the sixth incident of people robbed by motorcycle-borne men outside a bank or an ATM booth.

The first incident was reported around 2.30 pm from Sector 5 in Dwarka. Rajiv Kaushal was on his scooter when he was intercepted by two men.

“They stopped and asked him to hand over the bag with cash. When he resisted, one of them attacked him with a knife,” said a senior police officer. Police said minutes before Kaushal was attacked, he had withdrawn Rs 50,000 from an ATM machine.

Near Hans Bhavan at ITO, Pardul Negi, an engineer working at Bhikaji Cama Place, was intercepted by four motorcycle borne robbers around 3.30 p.m. Negi had withdrawn Rs 14,000 from an SBI ATM and was walking towards Mandi House.
