"The government should bring out a white paper on the SIMI on the basis of all information it has," senior BJP leader LK Advani told a press conference in New Delhi.

The government should accept the fact that there is a threat to national security from SIMI, he said, adding that because of the "failure" of the Union Home Ministry, a special tribunal lifted the ban on SIMI.

"In fact, once the government had itself allowed the ban to lapse," Advani said to drive home his point that the government was "soft" on terror.
