The activists led by senior BJP leader V K Malhotra submitted a memorandum to the officials in the High Commission and wanted action from the authorities to bring the culprits to book.

Two Sikhs, who were kidnapped for ransom, were found beheaded by the Taliban in Pakistan's restive tribal belt yesterday.

"It is a very ghastly act and in the memorandum we have demanded punishment to the guilty as well as protection for the minorities," Malhotra said.

Accusing the Centre of not taking the issue seriously, he said the government should put diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to ensure protection of the minorities there.

Addressing the gathering, Malhotra said minority communities living in Pakistan are completely unsafe as they are being subjected to 'jiziya' tax and forced to accept Islam.
