BJP today said it will not allow the government to implement the Ranganath Misra Commission recommendations, which have sought to extend reservation to Muslims and other minorities and SC status to dalit converts.

"....several parties are demanding its (Ranganath Misra Committee recommendations) implementation. We will fight both inside and outside Parliament. We will not allow its implementation," Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma
Swaraj said.
She was addressing her party workers and supporters of Anusuchit Jaati Arakshan Bachao Manch which was demonstrating against the commission's recommendations here.
Several BJP leaders, including Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and senior BJP leader Bangaroo Laxman also attended the demonstration.
"The implementation of the Commission's recommendations will be a great injustice to those who kept on tolerating the curses (of being dalit) but did not leave their society," Swaraj said.
She claimed that it has been long since a "conspiracy" to provide reservation to "converts" has been going on. "But, your unity and opposition from BJP will never let this happen," she said.
Jaitley described the Commission's recommendations as "illegal, unconstitutional and a conspiracy against the
culture" and warned the government from implementing it, saying, "there is no need to even read the report."
