While Rs 100 crore has been allotted to the building of rural roads, Rs 10 crore has been given to unauthorised colonies.

Though only the Delhi government is allowed to spend money in such areas, the MCD commissioner has been asked to make provisions under section 358 of the Delhi Municipal Act, so that the civic body can also work on its development.

MCD also made a separate allocation of Rs 15 crore towards civil work in unauthorised, regularised colonies.

For the first time, the MCD also made separate allocation for poorvanchalis, who make up a major chunk of the voter population. The Standing Committee has allocated R50 crore towards the redevelopment of river banks so poorvanchalis can celebrate Chhat Puja without any hassle.
