Even if Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi escapes the heat and manages to stay on, he will not have the free hand that he enjoyed till now in running the cash-rich tournament.

Top officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told IANS Tuesday that some board members have suggested a three-member "oversight committee" be formed to monitor Modi's functioning.
BCCI president Shashank Manohar, International Cricket Council's principal advisor Inderjit Singh Bindra and BCCI vice-president and Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Arun Jaitley are the names floated by the board members to be part of the committee.
Some board members also feel that the committee should completely take over the chores of the IPL's commissioner from Modi altogether, while others believe that the panel should oversee Modi's functioning.
The IPL governing council Monday will decide the fate of Modi.
