Shyam Bhadur, Istiyaq Ansari and Satyajit Chaudhury had moved to Delhi to pursue their academic dreams. But the blast at Mehrauli market threw a spanner in the plans.

Pursuing their MBA at the Integrated Management College in Saket, the three students were month-old in the city. They moved out of their college hostel recently and rented place in Ghitorni. Thanks to the Saturday blast, none of them would stay at their new home for a while.
They had gone to the Mehrauli market to purchasing furniture for their new place. They were three to four feet away from the blast site.
“We are new in this city and got to know each other in class. Istiyaq is from Ghazipur, Satyajit is from West Bengal and I am from Kanpur. None of us liked staying in the hostel and so we decided to move out,” said Bhadur. His right leg has been injured in the blast.
Istiyaq is in intensive care unit. “He has suffered injuries on his stomach and was operated on today,” said Bhadur. Chaudhary, who is also at AIIMS trauma centre, has fractured both his legs.
