Call to post complaint on MCD page

Apart from complaining about overflowing dhalaos, people will also be able to complain about the ill-maintained, waterless urinals and public toilets. There are 602 waterless urinals and 1,033 public toilets in Delhi.

On January 5, the MCD had launched a Facebook page to monitor the collection and disposal of garbage from dhalaos. Till date, 375 complaints have been received and addressed.

“Since Internet access has a limited spread, we have tied up with an organisation at the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer at IIT-Delhi to develop a voice application. This application will enable any mobile phone user to post their complaints on the Facebook page,” said KS Mehra, MCD commissioner.

From Saturday, any cell phone user can call 01146485270 and lodge a complaint by leaving a message. “An SMS will be sent, giving details about the status of the complaint,” said Anshu Prakash, additional commissioner (engineering), MCD.
