Residents from the plush Greater Kailash-II have on Monday planned a candle light vigil at the Savitri cinema T-junction to protest an upcoming mall-cum-cinema complex at the place of erstwhile Savitri cinema complex.

The location of the complex at a bottleneck T-point meeting the outer ring road is the main cause of concern for the residents, who claim that the complex which has 'opening shortly' bill board will worsen the traffic woes of the area.
Representatives of more than 30 resident welfare associations (RWAs) from GK II have formed the Federation of GK-II Complex RWAs — they have also formed a steering committee for the cause — met on Saturday evening and planned out the protest candle light vigil.
"The entry and exit points for vehicles for this cinema-cum-mall complex open on a road that is 30-feet wide. Moreover, this point is metres away from the T-junction, which already is a bottleneck for the vehicular traffic entering GK-II," said SP Mehra, a member of the steering committee.
The candle light vigil would be held at 7.30pm on Monday, Mehra added.
