Capt Kohli's kin for fresh probe

The Defence Ministry is likely to order an inquiry into late Shaurya Chakra awardee Captain Sumit Kohli's death after the officer's mother Veena Kohli alleged that her son had not committed suicide but was murdered.

This comes after Veena Kohli, accompanied by her daughter and lawyer, met defence minister A K Antony on Saturday and asked him for a fresh probe.

The Kohli family has alleged that the Captain was killed four years ago because he knew the truth behind the killing of four porters in a fake encounter at Lolab in Kashmir in April 2004.

They claimed Kohli had promised the families of the porters that he would help them get justice.
