Cattle menace again: twins killed

The brothers were headed for Pitampura to attend the opening ceremony of a showroom owned by their employer when the incident took place.

“They were to get married in June. We wanted to get them married on the same day,” said Mahesh Jain, father of the twins.
Despite the tragedy, the family went ahead and donated the eyes of their dead boys.

Jain said the bodies were disfigured beyond recognition. “Nothing was left. We donated their eyes at Babu Jagjiwan Ram Hospital after the post-mortem,” he said.

The brothers were employed at a sari showroom in Chandni Chowk and had recently been asked to take care of the new outlet in Pitampura.

The incident was reported around 9.15 am at the busy Ashok Vatika crossing opposite Laxmi Bai College on Saturday.

The family said they had made all the arrangements for their wedding in June.

“My sons were very happy that they would be able to spend more time at home as the new showroom was closer than their earlier workplace in Chandni Chowk,” added Jain.

The police have impounded the bus that operated between Burari and Vishnu Garden.

“We are ascertaining the cause of the accident. We will take action against the driver if he is found responsible,” said NS Bundela, DCP (northwest). Police said they have not registered any case yet.
