CBI goes after Balkrishna

Baba Ramdev’s aide Acharya Balkrishna has reportedly headed for a ‘safe place’ from Patanjali Yogpeeth after the CBI registered an FIR against him for allegedly procuring his passport on the basis of forged papers.

Baba Ramdev’s aide Acharya Balkrishna has reportedly headed for a ‘safe place’ from Patanjali Yogpeeth after the CBI registered an FIR against him for allegedly procuring his passport on the basis of forged papers.

Balkrishna switched off his mobile phone and remained incommunicado on Monday even as it emerged that the CBI had written to the external affairs ministry for revoking his passport.

On Sunday, the CBI registered the FIR against Balkrishna on charges of submitting forged university documents and birth certificate for the passport. A lookout notice against Balkrishna has also been issued.

On this, Ramdev said, “Responsibility for giving a degree lies with the university... How is Balakrishna responsible for this?”
