"Bhanwari had two sex CDs, one with Maderna and another with Malkhan Singh, and was blackmailing both of them," a source said.

The two were regularly paying her money to prevent her from making the CDs public. However, on July 23, Maderna's rivals procured a copy of the CD and leaked it to a local news channel.

Maderna suspected Bhanwari and hired two criminal gangs to abduct and murder her. Singh also colluded in the crime as Bhanwari had earlier warned him that she would expose him for allegedly fathering her third child, a daughter.
