CBI seeks nod for FIR against Lalli

The CBI has sought sanction of the information and broadcasting ministry to prosecute former Prasar Bharti CEO BS Lalli and Doordarshan director general Aruna Sharma with regard to its probe into the matter of awarding broadcasting rights for the Commonwealth Games.

The CBI has sought sanction of the information and broadcasting ministry to prosecute former Prasar Bharti CEO BS Lalli and Doordarshan Director General Aruna Sharma with regard to its probe into the matter of awarding broadcasting rights for the Commonwealth Games.The CBI has sought sanction under section 6 A of the Delhi Police Special Establishment Act, which mandates a prior nod before prosecuting any officer of the rank of joint secretary and above.
