CBI sends seized PCs for analysis

The CBI is trying to decipher the information stored in over a dozen computers seized from the premises of corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and former TRAI chairman Pradip Baijal among others raided by the agency in connection with the probe into 2G scam. HT reports.

The CBI is trying to decipher the information stored in over a dozen computers seized from the premises of corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and former TRAI chairman Pradip Baijal among others raided by the agency in connection with the probe into 2G scam.

Once the scrutiny is over, the probe agency is going to decide its next course of action. Sources claim that Wednesday’s raids were fruitful as far as building a case in the 2G scam is concerned. Sources also said that next few days are very crucial in the case. They are not ruling out arrests in the case.

The computers seized during the raids have been sent for forensic analysis. Enforcement Directorate officials have also joined CBI to analyze documents recovered from Mahesh Jain and Alok Jain. Sources allege that both of them channeled scam money through hawala route.

Sources claim that they are also probing funds received by Tamil Maiyam, the NGO run by Rev Jegath Gaspar Raj. DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi is one of the directors of Tamil Maiyam. Focusing on the donors of the this NGO, the agency will check whether the donations have been declared or not.
