CCE: First a song, now a movie on it

So much so, now there’s a film on Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE). The film, the most recent among a slew of initiatives, will be uploaded on the Board’s website and sent to all schools on a CD.

CBSE has already held training workshop for teachers, distributed manuals and even launched a song—composed composed by a Salwan Public School, Gurgaon, teacher—called ‘Naya Aghaz’ and a poster to popularise CCE.

“We want to create an environment where parents and students ask teachers to implement continuous evaluation. Only then will schools take it seriously,” said Chairman Vineet Joshi.

“Many new initiatives fail because there isn’t much awareness. But we want parents and students to be well-informed and help us enforce CCE in schools. Here’s where the film will help,” he added.

The new evaluation system was introduced in October across the country at the level of Class IX. Under this, students are promoted not on the basis of a year-end examination but throughout the year through classwork, projects, unit tests and even co-curricular activities.
