Chinese pavilion to draw huge crowd

Though the Chinese participation is less in the current edition of the trade fair, the Chinese stalls are still expected to draw huge crowd. They are selling everything from baby diapers to handicraft items and from electronic kettle to battery-run two-wheelers, that too at nominal prices.

On Day 2 of the trade fair, exclusively for business visitors, the Chinese baby toys and handicraft stalls among others attracted a huge crowd.

"It's not only the technology products; the Chinese handicrafts products are also very unique. I prefer their art than their technology," said Shuchi Singhal, a visitor.

In comparison to earlier years, the Chinese participation has seen a steep decline this year. Only 21 Chinese exhibitors have put up their stall this year.

"Unlike previous years, the Chinese participation is very less but the footfall at these counters is going to be huge when the fair opens for general public as the Chinese goods are cheaper than other countries," said a senior ITPO official.

The Chinese electronic products known for their innovative technology and low costs were one of the major attractions for visitors till last year. "They wrapped up their stalls within few days of commencement of the fair in the last edition. This time we have taken it in writing from them and they are subscribed for all 14 days. But if they don't find any business here, we can't stop them from leaving," the official added.
