A 17-year-old student was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a west Delhi government school on Friday evening, police said.
Identified as Dinesh, the victim had allegedly gone to school to submit a leave application for a family vacation at the Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Nangloi around 4:30pm.
Two hours later, the police were informed that he was lying in the school compound with blood oozing out from his head with the school’s principal, according to the victim’s family, refusing to accept that he studied there.
“The school administration claims that he died after accidentally tripping and falling. A post mortem examination on him was conducted on Saturday and a case of negligence has been registered against unknown persons at the moment,” an officer said.
The victim, a class 11 student, was good in studies and was preparing for his board exams to be held next year.
That, his family claimed, was why his father, who runs a small slipper manufacturing unit, had promised to take him on a short trip to take his mind off the pressure.
