A Class 12 student was arrested in New Delhi on Saturday for raping a 15-year-old girl when she was alone at her home

A Class 12 student was arrested in New Delhi on Saturday for raping a 15-year-old girl when she was alone at her home, police said.


The accused, Aslam, a neighbour, barged into the victim’s house at Goakalpuri area in east Delhi on Friday afternoon when she was alone. The 19-year-old raped the girl and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anybody about the assault.

However, the girl, a student of Class 10, told her parents in the evening and they approached police.

"The accused has been arrested on Saturday evening," said an officer.
