The New Year brings hopes for a cleaner city. The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has allotted sanitation work for the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road to ‘Pre Hari’, a firm that takes care of sanitation for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as well.

“We have allotted the tender to ‘Pre Hari’ which gave us the best offer. It’s a trusted company as they have proved their efficiency with the DMRC earlier. They will start work from January 1, 2011. They will take care of MG road. They will clean the roads and keep a check on people who litter,” MCG commissioner RK Khullar said.
The contract, worth R5.5 lakh, will involve 14 volunteers from the company. If the firm does not fine offenders, the corporation will fine the firm for being lax. Mechanical road cleaners will be deployed. “If work is satisfactory, work will be allotted work for remaining areas also,” Khullar said.
