Delhi recorded a minimum of 10.1 degrees Celsius -- a notch below the average for this time of the season. The humidity was recorded at 89 percent.

"Skies will remain partly cloudy with possibility of rain or thundershowers later during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 24 degrees," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The weather office said the western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir is the reason behind the expected showers.

Delhi has so far received 42.4 mm of rainfall since the onset of the winter season.
